Maryland House and Senate Republicans sent a letter to the state Legislative Policy Committee this week expressing opposition to Governor Moore’s plan to continue a program that rapidly hires former federal employees. The state announced a hiring freeze for most jobs on July 1st. Legislators claim the program is inefficient in that it has only hired 251 former fed employees since February and only 7% of those came through the expedited program.
