Although thousands of people swarmed the downtown Cumberland area on Memorial Day to enjoy the Del McCoury Band concert at Canal Place, many businesses chose not to take advantage. Just a few stores and restaurants made the decision to open their doors during the event leaving many visitors with few options before, during and after the show. It is a situation that caught the attention of Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss.
