Mary Maxine (Mongold) Mazzone, 96, formerly of Westernport, passed away on Jan. 23, 2023, at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born on Oct. 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late David and Frances Cecila Mongold. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Anthony "Tony" Mazzone.
Maxine was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport. She attended Catherman's Business School, and worked as a typist at the Kelly.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by friends and family for her sense of humor, strong devotion to her faith, and her kind and generous heart.
She is survived by her son, Leo David Mazzone and wife, Rebecca; and her daughter, Mary Frances (Mazzone) Fisher and husband, Michael. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Anthony Mazzone and wife, Samantha, Myka Sidow and husband, Andy, Christopher Mazzone, Natalie Bennett and husband, Tyler, and Nicholas Mazzone and wife, Tera. Maxine is survived by five great-grandchildren, Robert Nathaniel and Gracie Maria Sidow, Paige Grayson, and Brooke Elizabeth Mazzone, Keegan Mazzone, and Ceceilia Frances Bennett; along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a "celebration of life" gathering beginning at 6 p.m., where friends and family will have the opportunity to share stories about Maxine.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at the Divine Mercy Parish St. Peter Catholic Church, Westernport, on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at 10 a.m.
Interment immediately following at St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport.
