With families traveling more often during the summer months, naturally the price of gasoline becomes a concern. In Western Maryland, the price of gas has historically been 20 to 40 cents higher per gallon than other areas of the state. What’s the explanation? House Minority Leader Jason Buckel says there seems to be no real rhyme of reason for the difference, except perhaps the amount of competition…
“We don’t have as many types or competing gas stations in our region as you well know. You go to Ocean City, they might have 15, 20 different types of retailers that offer gas from Exxon stations down to just convenience stores that have their own branded gas station. We predominantly have just a couple.”
