Older West Virginians Should Update Vaccine

March 21st, 2024 by WCBC Radio

The West Virginia Department of Health is informing all West Virginians 65 and older that they are eligible to receive the updated COVID-19 vaccine per recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control.  The state’s Pan Respiratory Dashboard shows only 36% of state residents over 61 are up to date on their COVID vaccine.  Over 100 people died in West Virginia from COVID in the last year, with an average age of 73. The updated vaccine targets original and new variants of the virus.
