Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley has been nominated by President Joe Biden to become the next Social Security Administration Commissioner.  The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon.  Biden said in a statement that “Governor O’Malley is a lifelong public servant who has spent his career making government more accessible and transparent, while keeping the American people at the heart of his work."   O’Malley will have to be confirmed by the Senate before assuming the position.
