On Sunday, September 7th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Paca St for the report of a male trespassing. Upon arrival, officers contacted the resident, who advised that a male inside the home would not leave when asked to do so. They also advised that the subject had been previously issued a "no trespassing" order for the property as well. Officers then confirmed the validity of the order and as a result, William Allen McKnew, 69, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance, where he was released on his own recognizance.
