On 7-16-22 the Cumberland Police were called to a residence on the 900 block of Gay St for a report of a possible burglary in progress. The female caller advised that a male had been banging on her door and had made entry. While in route, Officers were advised that the suspect was fleeing the scene. An Officer observed a male subject run from the area and enter a vehicle. The vehicle then left the area with no headlights. Rumor: If a voter receives an email about his or her mail-in ballot that ends in @marylandelections.us, this email is not from the State Board of Elections and should be discarded. Fact: Emails ending in @maryland.gov and @marylandelections.us are legitimate. They are both email domain names that our agency uses. For example, if a voter receives an email from absentee3.sbe@marylandelections.us, that is one of the emails we use to send information to voters that requested a mail-in ballot. Cardin Seeks Dental Benefit Expansion
U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) praised the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for including an expansion of dental health coverage under Medicare in a key list of proposed rule changes announced Thursday by CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure. Representative David Trone (MD-06) voted to codify abortion rights into federal law by helping to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act and the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act. Hogan Announces Eco Grants
Governor Larry Hogan and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced the award of $18.8 million to 22 ecological restoration projects that will improve water quality and habitat in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, while building local resilience to climate impacts.
