Grantsville Bank Struck by Bullet

On Tuesday trooper's from the McHenry State Police Barracks responded to the First United Bank in Grantsville MD for reported damage to their front door. Upon arrival, Trooper's identified the damage as a bullet hole. The damage was sustained between 5:30 PM Monday 8/27/21 and 8 AM Tuesday 8/28/21. Potomac Park Pit-N-Go robbed at gunpoint

Police are looking for the man who robbed the Pit-N-Go convenience store on McMullen Highway at gunpoint late Tuesday. Maryland State Police said the incident happened about 9:30 p.m. when the suspect entered the store and pointed the gun at three employees. He allegedly stole two money trays from cash registers and fled on foot on Mulberry Avenue. Police Serve Arrest Warrant for Burglary

On September 28th, 2021 officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Demond Arthur Scott Sr. The Arrest Warrant was issued by the District Court on September 26th, 2021 stemming from a burglary investigation. Scott was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond.   Arrest: Demond Arthur Scott, age 34, Cumberland Maryland. Charges: Burglary First Degree, and Two Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary First Degree.

CDC Names Maryland State with Lowest COVID Numbers

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Maryland is the state with the lowest new COVID-19 case rate in the country, but state health officials say they still need to do a lot of work. Fraley Urges City Council to Promote Mask Wearing

McKay Would Like to See MD Natl Guard Assist at Border

Delegate Mike McKay, concerned with what he see occurring at the southern U.S. border, tells WCBC News he would like to see Maryland send some assistance. The U.S. has seen a 500% increase in the number of illegal immigrant crossings with a record-setting 213,534 crossings reported in July alone. Skate Park Has Possible Location at Jaycee Field

Pfizer Booster Shots Available Thursday and Friday

The Allegany County Health Department will offer booster shots of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at clinics on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gymnasium of Allegany College of Maryland. In order to obtain a booster shot, individuals must have received their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine between January and March and fit one of the following classifications: Age 65 or older. Capital Gazzette Shooter sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole

WBAL reports the man who plead guilty to killing five people in the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis has been sentenced to five counts of life in prison without the possibility of parole, life in prison, 125 years in prison and 220 years in prison, all of them to run consecutively. The sentencing hearing ended after 12 survivors, victims and family members addressed the court with victim impact testimony.
