BURGLARY ARREST
On Sunday, April 13, 2025 at approximately 4:53 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 100 block of Baltimore Street for a breaking and entering complaint. Police contacted the victim who reported that someone had burglarized their business. During the investigation, a description of the suspect was obtained. An officer located a male subject in the area who matched the description of the suspect. The subject was detained and later identified as Larry Meyers Jr. After further investigation, Meyers was arrested and transported to police headquarters. TRESPASSING ARREST
On Sunday, April 13, 2025 at approximately 5:08 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a health facility in the 12000 block of Willowbrook Rd. for a male subject trespassing. Police arrived on scene and contacted the staff who reported that Malik Freeman had been discharged from the facility and was refusing to leave the property. Officers contacted Freeman and advised him that he needed to leave. Freeman refused to listen to officers at which time he was arrested and transported to police headquarters. AOB Distinctive Scholars Honored
The Archdiocese of Baltimore recently held its Honors Convocation recognizing outstanding high school students. Three Bishop Walsh students traveled to Baltimore’s Catholic High School to receive recognition as Distinctive Scholars. The BW seniors are James Edward Hose, Cassandra Hein, and Kaitlyn Kutcher. All three rank at the top of their class and contribute to the school through many activities and leadership responsibilities. The Distinctive Scholars ceremony dates back to the 1990s in the archdiocese.
Columbia St. Assault Leads to Arrest
On Saturday, April 12, 2025 at approximately 12:02 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the first block of Columbia Street for an assault in progress. Police arrived on scene and observed a male and female in an active disturbance. The male, who was identified as Eric Brewington, was detained due to his behavior that had attracted the attention of multiple people in the area. Brewington was arrested and transported to police headquarters. After further investigation, police learned that Brewington had assaulted the other party involved. BENCH WARRANT SERVED On Friday, April 11, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Jacob Baker. The warrant was issued as the result of Baker failing to appear for court on an original charge of Theft: $100 to under $1,500. Baker was arrested and transported to Central Booking.
