North Wineow Street Trespass Private Property

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of North Wineow Street for the report of a male trespassing in the parking lot. Upon arrival, Officers met with Bret Redden, who had been previously served with a no trespass order for the property. As a result, Redden was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for trespassing. Frederick Street and Center City Garage Construction and Traffic Disruption

The City of Cumberland would like to notify the public of the installation of new gates and parking access stations in the Frederick Street and Center City Parking Garages beginning December 1st, 2025. South Center Street citation for Littering and Setting up Bedding

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of South Center Street for the report of a male sleeping near a building. Upon their arrival, Joseph Wood was observed sleeping amongst a pile of trash. Wood was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for littering and a civil citation for setting up bedding outdoors inside City limits. Downtown Waterfall Ceremony Friday

The downtown Cumberland waterfall will have a naming ceremony Friday.  The dedication will take place at 2 p.m. at the corner of Liberty and Baltimore Streets.  The new downtown Christmas tree will be lighted hours later at the same corner.

Justice Settles On IRS Tax Suit

West Virginia Senator Jim Justice will pay more than $5 million to settle a federal tax obligation dating back to 2009, according to West Virginia court records. Senator Justice along with his wife agreed to the payment that also includes interest and other fees. A complaint had been filed by the U.S. Department of Justice tax division for unpaid federal income tax assessments amounting to $8 million dollars.

River Park Completion Could be 2030
