Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk and Army Director of Athletics Mike Buddie announced today that the 121st playing of the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA will be played at West Point on Saturday, Dec. 12. The game is being moved from Philadelphia due to attendance limits placed on outdoor events in the state of Pennsylvania that do not allow the entire Brigade of Midshipmen and Corps of Cadets to attend. Almost $800,000 Announced to Expand Housing Counseling Services Across Maryland

Trunk-or-Treat Event Draws Criticism
A large-scale trunk or treat Halloween event was held in the White Oaks Plaza in South Cumberland Thursday evening, but reports are that many people attending were not following CDC COVID guidelines. Callers to WCBC's "Dave Norman Show" expressed concern. Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss said the event was not city sponsored and he advised any groups or organizations holding such activities to follow the protocols.
Two cases of COVID-19 reported this week in Allegany County Public Schools
For the week of October 19 – 23, 2020, ACPS reports two individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 who were within an Allegany County Public School. These two individuals are currently out of the school buildings and will continue to isolate. In both cases, ACPS worked with the Allegany County Health Department to determine close contacts of these positive cases. Those contacts have been notified and will complete a 14-day quarantine. Parents who have children attending these schools were informed through the ACPS Blackboard Notification System.
Maryland Department of Health urging Marylanders to get their flu shots
The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) today released new digital and social media to support #FightFlu Fridays, an extension of its “Fight the Flu” campaign. Overnight Vehicle Fire Disrupts Traffic on I-68
A vehicle fire on Interstate 68 eastbound near mile marker 67 in the Little Orleans area of Allegany County closed the eastbound lanes for a few hours early Friday morning. There were no reports of injuries. No other information was made avaialble.
BOE Members Dispute Accusations of Opposing In-Person Instruction
One of the more hotly debated issues on social media and elsewhere in the midst of the Allegany County Board of Education election campaign has centered on returning kids to the classrooms.
