BENCH WARRANTS SERVED & CDS ARREST
On Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at approximately 10:30 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 block of Lennox Place for trespassers entering an abandoned building. Police located Jared Citarelli and Marissa Tice inside the property. Officers confirmed that both subjects had active bench warrants at which time they were placed under arrest. A search of Tice’s person revealed that she was in possession of suspected fentanyl. Citarelli and Tice were transported to Central Booking and served with their warrants. Maryland Delegation Announces Funding For Bay Projects
U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen, Ben Cardin along with Congress members from Maryland have announced $398,000 in federal funding to support five state-based projects focused on restoration, education, and volunteerism for the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The federal awards are provided through the National Park Service’s Chesapeake Bay Gateway Grant Assistance program. Included is $49,000 to the Maryland Humanities Council to develop online resources for groups working to preserve the watershed.

Virginia Avenue Theft Arrest
On Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at approximately 11:05 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue for a shoplifting complaint. Police contacted the staff who reported that Gabrielle Miller stole items from the store and left the area. After further investigation, police located Miller on Kentucky Avenue and issued her a criminal citation for the theft. Glenn Street CDS Arrest
On Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at approximately 3:38 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Glenn Street. Two of the vehicle occupants were identified as Joshua Warnick and Melvin Roe Jr. A police K-9 was utilized and alerted to the odor of drugs in the vehicle. A search was then conducted. Warnick was found to be possession of suspected Alprazolam and Roe was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Roe also had an active arrest warrant through West Virginia.
