Traffic Detour On I-70 At US 522 Planned for Wednesday Night
Maryland State Highway Administration will detour traffic on I-70 at US 522 in Hancock beginning Wednesday night, July 24 at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday, July 25, weather permitting. Both directions of I-70 at US 522 will be detoured. The closure is necessary as crews prepare for the demolition phase of the bridge project. The entire project is expected to be complete by fall 2025, weather permitting.

Frostburg Urging Water Conservation
The City of Frostburg is urging residents to begin water conservation efforts immediately due to declining levels at the Piney Reservoir. Communities served by the City of Frostburg’s water system include Frostburg, Eckhart, Consol, Grahamtown, Clarysville, Carlos, Shaft, Klondike, Borden, Zihlman, Mount Savage, Woodcock Hollow and all communities in the Georges Creek Water Service area: Midland, Gilmore, Lonaconing, Pekin, and Barton. The City will continue to monitor reservoir levels. Should the drought persist, a water conservation emergency may be declared.

The Maryland Attorney General’s new Civil Rights Division filed its first lawsuit in Wicomico County against Eric Sessoms and Mt. Vernon Group, LLC. for engaging in a pattern or practice of gender-based discrimination in housing.
