Paint Tax Passed By House

February 26th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

The nickel and diming of Maryland taxpayers may be starting in Annapolis.  House Bill1 – Maryland Paint Stewardship adds an assessment to the purchase of paint that would then be used to cover a paint stewardship program to allow collection and disposal of unused paint.  The bill does not stipulate what the assessment will be. The House passed the bill by a vote of 99-37 and now goes to the Senate.
