Several paramedics in Allegany County now have the ability to perform Rapid Sequence Intubation, a specialized procedure that allows clinicians to quickly and safely give sedatives and paralytics to patients facing serious medical emergencies or injuries. RSI helps them insert a breathing tube for a secure airway, enhancing critical emergency care in the region. This service is available from the EMS Supervisor's truck, ensuring that critical interventions can be given promptly by trained personnel. It will soon be available from the unit stationed in LaVale.
