Parrott says Biden visit shows Trone has election concerns

October 7th, 2022 by WCBC Radio

President Joe Biden will visit Hagerstown on Friday, the White House announced. Biden will "deliver remarks on building the economy from the bottom up and middle out," at the Volvo Power Train Plant, according to a White House news release.

Biden will be joined by sixth district incumbent congressman David Trone.

“I am proudly joining President Joe Biden in our district tomorrow to showcase our country’s job creation and economic growth under his leadership,” Trone said. “Whether it’s through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act or Inflation Reduction Act, we’re here in Hagerstown to put people over politics and build a brighter tomorrow for Marylanders.”

Trone faces a rematch in November with Washington County Republican Delegate Neil Parrott. Parrott tells WBAL Radio that Biden’s visit to the Sixth District is a clear sign  that Trone is concerned about the election.

"It's really interesting that they chose to come here a few weeks before the election,” Parrott said. “It's very clear to me an other people watching that David Trone reached out to the president because he's desperate in this race.”
