On Wednesday, 10-21-15 at approximately 0610 hours, this barrack received a call of a serious personal injury collision westbound I-70 near the Walnut Point Road overpass. Initial calls received
stated that a pedestrian was struck by a tractor trailer. The pedestrian was transported by Williamsport Ambulance to Meritus Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. He was later pronounced deceased at Meritus. I-70 was closed to westbound traffic for a short time this morning for the investigation. The victim has been identified as Matthew Ray Poe of Glen Burnie Maryland. No charges have been filed

The Maryland State Police are investigating a pedestrian/vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality. On Monday at approximately 8:52PM, Troopers along with local Fire and EMS companies, responded to Sharpsburg Pike and Lyles Drive for a struck pedestrian.
The initial investigation revealed that 57 year old William Guth of Hagerstown, MD was driving his 2006 Jeep Liberty northbound on Sharpsburg Pike when a pedestrian, 26 year old Priyanka Malik of Hagerstown, MD, entered the roadway on foot.
Malik was struck by the Guth vehicle and died as a result of her injuries. She was a native of India, working in the United States.
