Peoples Gas has been acquired by Hope Gas, Incorporated. The two West Virginia gas providers had petitioned the Public Service Commission to approve the acquisition and is expected to vote on it soon. Peoples Gas serves over 12,000 customers in 15 counties in the Mountain State and had operating revenues of $14.4 million last year. Hope Gas will add a surcharge to the new customer’s bills to cover pipeline replacement currently in process and will keep all of the Peoples Gas employees.
