August 10th, 2023 by WCBC Radio

The Maryland Department of Health is rolling out a pilot program to support pregnant and parenting women recovering from substance and opioid use disorders.  The Strengthening Families in Recovery program is financed by a three-year grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.  The $2.7 million pilot will fund recovery support coordinators, pregnant parenting navigators and family support coaches to help women navigate administrative barriers. The pilot program will be offered in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, PG County, Washington County and Worcester County.
