On March 29th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police arrested Arthur Lee Brown Jr, 22, of Cumberland MD. Brown was arrested on an outstanding Arrest Warrant stemming from an incident which occurred earlier in the same day. During that incident, Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of E. First St. for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival on scene, officers located the subjects involved, including Brown. Investigation revealed that Brown and another resident had gotten into a verbal altercation that turned physical. It was alleged that Brown assaulted the subject and then began to break items inside the home. When the victim fled the home on foot, Brown chased them down. Brown then began to assault the victim once more, also taking items from them at that time. As a result of the investigation, an Arrest Warrant was issued for Brown and he was subsequently arrested. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $10,000 bond.
