Breaking and Entering

On Saturday, December 21, 2013 at approximately 2:30 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 400 block of Race Street in reference to a breaking and entering complaint.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the victim who stated that sometime between 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 till 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013, unknown persons broke into his apartment by forcing open the side entry door.  Once inside the suspects stole several electronic items and clothing valued at over $1,000.00.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600; anonymous callers may also call Crime Solvers at 301-722-4300.

 

 

Criminal Summons Served

On Saturday, December 21, 2013 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on James Gregory Allen Hebert.  The summons stems from an assault which took place at a residence located in the 300 block of Caroline Street on December 11, 2013.  On that date Hebert and a 17 year old male got into a physical altercation after arguing over money.  Both subjects stated that they were assaulted.  As a result the juvenile was charged with second degree assault pending further action in Juvenile Court.  Charges were applied for against Hebert which resulted in the summons being issued.  Hebert was also charged with second degree assault.

Criminal Summons Served

On Saturday, December 21, 2013 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Jacob Allen Kasecamp.  The summons charges Kasecamp with fraud.  The summons was applied for by a private citizen.

Arrested:

Jacob Allen Kasecamp – age 28 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Criminal summons charging Kasecamp with fraud.

On Friday, September 27, 2013 at approximately 11:00 am a Cumberland Police Officer was on patrol in the Park Street area.  The Officer observed a male subject pushing a Martin's Market shopping cart full of non bagged groceries.  The Officer stopped the subject and identified him as Adelino Petrocelli.  Upon contacting Martin's Market they advised the grocery items had been discarded by the store but the subject removed the shopping cart from the property.  Petrocelli was issued a Criminal Citation for Removing a shopping cart without the owner's consent.  He was then released.

CDS Arrest

 

On Friday, September 27, 2013 at approximately 10:40 am an Officer entered a Virginia Avenue business.  Once inside the business the Officer discovered a female acting in a suspicious manner.  Upon speaking with the female  the Officer discovered signs the female had been using illegal narcotics.  A search of the female revealed CDS paraphernalia, suspected Marijuana and prescription medications not issued to the her.  There was evidence the prescription medication was just purchased and some of the prescription medication was missing.  Due to the Officer's observations and the evidence located Belinda Ravenscroft was placed under arrest.  Ravenscroft was transported to the Cumberland Police Department and was later released after appearing at the District Court Commissioner's Office.
