On November 7, 2011, at 10:04 pm, Cumberland City Police officers responded to a commercial business on Maryland Avenue for a reported Breaking and Entering.  Upon arrival officers observed a shattered window to the business.  Marcus Conaway age 28 of Cumberland was found by the broken window.  He was placed in custody and charged with Destruction of Property and 4th Degree Burglary.  Mr. Conaway was processed and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner for a bond review where he was released on his personal recognizance.

 

On November 7, 2011, at 12:56 am, a Cumberland Police Department officer observed a speeding violation on Interstate 68 west bound and stopped the vehicle near the Maryland Avenue exit.  Upon further investigation, a K9 scan was conducted and a quantity of Marihuana was found in the vehicle.  Garrett Scott Snyder, age 19 of Churchton Maryland was arrested and charged with Possession of Marihuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Mr. Snyder was processed and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance.

August 28th  2011 – Burglary

On 08/28/11 The Cumberland Police Department responded the 100blk of N. Mechanic Street in reference to a burglary complaint. Investigation revealed that person(s) unknown entered the business and busted several coin operated machines removing the change from within. The culprit(s) further entered a locked office and damaged equipment within the office causing nearly $30,000 worth of damage. August 28, 2011 – Assault

On 08/28/11 Officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 700blk of Lincoln Street for a report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival Officers interviewed both parties involved and learned that a physical altercation took place between 18yo Robert Taylor III and a 14yo male. Officers observed minor injuries to both parties and as a result, Robert Taylor was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault. The fourteen year old male was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services for disposition. Robert Taylor was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was released on his own recognizance.
