Police make Assault, DUI Arrests

On Friday officers of the Cumberland Police Department, and C3I responded to the 200 block of Baltimore Avenue for a reported stabbing. While officers responded they were notified that Rahmier Hussan Chase had identified himself as the suspect who had stabbed someone. Upon officer’s arrival they observed the victim laying on the ground with an obvious injury, and rendered first aid. The victim advised officers that Rahmier Hussan Chase had stabbed them. Officers observed Chase to still be in the area and placed him under arrest. Officers continued their investigation, and located evidence of the crime, and interviewed witnesses. Chase was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond.

 

Arrest: Rahmier Hussan Chase, age 21, Hagerstown Maryland.

Charge: Assault 1st Degree.

 

DUI Arrest

 

Early Saturday an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling on South Mechanic Street. The officer contacted the operator Leon Frank Corley, and observed signs of impairment. The officer then requested Corley to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he did. The officer observed further evidence of impairment and placed Corley under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Corley was issued appropriate citations and was released pending his trial.

 

Arrest: Leon Frank Corley, age 36, Frostburg Maryland.

Charges: Driving Under the Influence Traffic Citations.
