Police make assault, theft arrests

On June 30, 2017 at approximately 4:08 AM Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Bedford Street for a disturbance.  Upon arrival contact was made with an adult female who advised she had a final protective order against Westley Alan Myers.  The female was in an apartment with other people when Myers came to her apartment and began yelling at her about being too loud.  Myers was in an apartment next to where the female had been located.  Police confirmed there was a final protective order against Myers and he was placed under arrest.  He was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a bond of $8,500.  He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court.

Arrested:

Charges:  Violation of an Ex Parte/Protective Order

Assault Arrest

On June 30, 2017 at approximately 10:34 AM Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Davidson Street for an assault complaint.  Police learned the adult female victim and Nicolas Kenneth Donaldson were talking when Donaldson became angry and grabbed the female by the throat.  The female was able to break free from Donaldson and call the police.  The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.  Donaldson was arrested for the assault and taken for a bond hearing to the District Court Commissioner’s office.  Donaldson was held on a bond of $2,500 and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court.

Charges:  2nd Degree Assault

Theft Arrest

On June 30, 2017 at approximately 10:16 AM, Cumberland Police responded to a business in the 700 block of Park Street for a shoplifting complaint.  Police learned Mitchell Gaston Reid had attempted to make a return of items using a receipt that was not his in return for a gift card.  As the transaction was occurring an employee recognized it to be fraudulent and stopped the transaction.  Reid also did not have the items with him that he was attempting to return.  Reid was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for Theft under $100.  He was released pending trial in District Court.

Violation of Peace Order Arrest

On July 1, 2017 the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Bedford Street for a disturbance.  Police learned the adult male who lived in the residence had an active peace order against Yolanda Marie Bauman, who was inside the residence.  Bauman was placed under arrest without incident.  She is currently awaiting a bond hearing with the District Court Commissioner.

Charges:  Peace Order:  Fail to Comply

City Police report that on Friday morning, a male victim walked into police headquarters bleeding from the face and neck.  He stated that he had been at his residence located on Greenway Avenue where he had been assaulted by his girlfriend.  Officers interviewed the victim and obtained information about the assault.  The victim refused medical treatment for his injuries.  Officers responded to the Greenway Avenue residence where they made contact with Pamela Lynn Norris.  Officers interviewed Norris about the alleged assault.  At the conclusion of the officer’s investigation Norris was taken into custody for the assault without incident.  She was transported to Police Headquarter for processing.  She was later taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was released pending trial in District Court.

Charge: 2nd Degree Assault

 

On 3/4/16 at approx. 0230hrs, officers were dispatched to a Pennsylvania Avenue residence for a subject refusing to pay for cab fare.  Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who reported that she picked up the fare in Frostburg and transported him to his Pennsylvania Avenue residence.  Once they arrived at the residence the subject did not have the proper amount of money to take care of the bill.  Officers spoke with Eric Brewer and discovered that he had no additional money to satisfy the bill.  Brewer at first was cooperative with officers but became belligerent and started yelling at but officers and the victim.  Officers attempted numerous times to get Brewer to calm down but he continued to yell causing a disturbance.  Brewer was taken into custody and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Brewer was later released pending trial in District Court.
