Police Make CDS & Disturbance Arrests in Cumberland

CDS ARREST

 

On Saturday, July 9, 2022 at approximately 2:35 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Valley Street for a suspicious vehicle occupied by a male and a female. Upon speaking with the occupants, officers suspected drug activity. Police conducted a consent search of the vehicle. A quantity of a controlled dangerous substance was located in the vehicle. After further investigation, one of the occupants, Jared Citarelli, was arrested for CDS Possession-Not Marijuana. He was transported to police headquarters and issued a criminal citation. Citarelli was then released pending trial at District Court.

 

ARRESTED: Jared Nathaniel Citarelli AGE: 34 Keyser, WV

CHARGES: CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana

 

 

PUBLIC DISTURBANCE ARREST

 

On Friday, July 8, 2022 at approximately 10:05 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Greene Street area for a male subject causing a disturbance. Police contacted the male and identified him as Rodney Merica. Merica was warned not to create any further disturbances. At approximately 10:45 PM, officers were called back to Greene Street for the same subject causing another disturbance. An officer arrived on scene and observed Merica yelling while walking into traffic. Merica was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was issued two criminal citations and released pending trial at District Court.

CHARGES: Fail to Obey a Reasonable & Lawful Order, Intoxicated Public Disturbance
