Police Make Disorderly Conduct Arrest While Serving Summonses

On Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department served two criminal summonses on Rahman Hadi Wilkins for numerous traffic violations to include; driving on a revoked license, driving without a license, fleeing and eluding, reckless, driving, and negligent driving.  The summonses were issued by District Court in reference to separate occasions; May 26th, and June 7th, 2021, when Wilkins was observed by officers operating a motor vehicle in Cumberland knowing he did not possess a valid drivers license.

 

After Wilkins had been served, he began to act in a disorderly manner and harassed the officer that had just served him with the court documents.  He was arrested and charged with harassment, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and failure to obey a lawful order.  Wilkins was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
