On April 10th, 2022 officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on George Lester Harman Jr. The warrant is related to an assault incident that occurred in the area of Pulaski Street on April 10th, 2022. During that incident the victim reported that Harman had choked them. Officers observed visible injuries, consistent with the victim’s statement. The victim was transported to UPMC for further evaluation. Based upon the officer’s investigation, an application for charges against Harman was completed and an arrest warrant was issued by District Court. Harman was taken to Central Booking and ultimately remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, held without bond.
