“Get answers – Get help” is the motto of the Possibility Shop, located at 138 Baltimore Street in Cumberland.  Operated through AHEC West, the shop provides a number of community services, all free, including signing up for health insurance, housing resources, acquiring or replacing birth certificates, and assistance accessing community programs.  AHEC”s Dave Stewart says one third to one quarter of clients at the Possibility Shop are living outside and need assistance…

“Sometimes when people are going through a struggle, they don’t necessarily see what’s possible for them in their lives. So we try to help them see that other things are possible. We really want to point – hey, here’s a direction you can go in, here’s some resources we can bring to you or help you get connected to, and that opens up possibilities for people.”
