Potomac Valley Hospital is able to offer Mako SmartRobotics for total knee and hip replacements. The technology uses 3D images from a CT scan to create a virtual model of the patient’s joint.  This helps surgeons plan the surgery in advance and provides more accuracy.  It can also mean smaller incisions, less damage to surrounding tissue, less pain after surgery, and decreased recovery time for patients.
