Walter Growden of LaVale passed away Monday surrounded by his family. Growden was a prominent businessman, starting his own land development and construction company with his wife Irene. The business developed land and built homes throughout Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania; in addition to developing many properties and churches in the tri-state area. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, 404 Decatur Street in Cumberland Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Growden was 90 years old.

Donald Eugene Davis, 84, of LaVale, MD, peacefully passed away in his sleep on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Davis owned and operated Davis Motors for over 50 years, originally located on Clement Street, Cumberland, then moving to Oldtown Road in the 1980's. Honoring Don's wishes, services will be private. The Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, is in charge of the arrangements.
