On Tuesday,at 2:27 PM, the Allegany County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Maryland State Police, responded to the 20000 block of McMullen Highway in Rawlings for a reported assault. First arriving Deputies spoke with witnesses, who advised that a female had approached them, stating that she had just been assaulted. The 40 year old victim spoke briefly with Deputies, and indicated that she had been assaulted, a shotgun had been pointed at her, and she had just escaped from a residence where she was being held against her will. She pointed out the residence to the Deputies.

Deputies surrounded the residence. A short time later two male subjects were seen exiting the rear of the residence. They were approached by Deputies and detained at that time.

The victim was transported to the emergency room at UPMC-Western Maryland for treatment of injuries she alleged she sustained during the assault. Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) responded to the hospital to assist the Sheriff's Office with the interview of the victim.

During the interview the 40 year old victim, who lives in Baltimore, advised that she and one of the suspects had travelled to the area earlier in the week and were staying with a local resident in Rawlings. Just prior to law enforcement being notified, she advised that she was assaulted, had a long gun, she believed to be a shotgun, pointed at her, and threatened that she was going to be killed. She further advised that she was prevented from leaving, and had to climb out a window to flee the residence.

C3I Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, Investigators recovered a shot gun, a handgun, and related evidence.

As a result, 52 year old Macy Wyatt Wilson, of Baltimore, and 37 year old Daniel Alan Lancaster, of Rawlings, were both arrested and charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and False Imprisonment.

Both were taken before the District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance and are currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center, without bond, pending their next court appearances.

The investigation is continuing by the Sheriff's Office and C3I.
