Return of Memorial Day Parade a Success

After decades without a Memorial Day Parade, Monday saw hundreds ot people lined up along Baltimore Street for a solemn ceremony and a parade festival.  City councilman Rock Cioni served as master of ceremonies for a service which began at 10 a.m., featuring the pledge of allegiance, the national anthem, prayers, a poem,  and taps played by Chris Myers.  The parade followed with various youth groups, including the Dapper Dan Little League.  The state champion Bishop Walsh Mock Trial team was in the parade, as well as various fire companies and classic cars groups.  All participants are hopeful the Memorial Day Parade returns in 2026.  The organizer of the event was downtown businessman and WCBC morning newsman Chris Myers.  The parade was broadcast live on WCBC Radio.
