Flintstone, Md. – Nov. 18, 2022 – Rocky Gap Casino Resort, located at 16701 Lakeview Road NE, will collect toys for local children through the annual Toys for Tots drive, a holiday gift collection program sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to benefit less fortunate youth.
Rocky Gap will collect new and unused toys for children in the community from Thursday, Dec. 1 to Tuesday, Dec. 20 and the toys will be picked up on or before Friday, Dec. 23. Since Rocky Gap’s first Toys for Tots drive in 2014, team members and guests have remained committed to making gift donations during the holiday season. In addition, True Rewards members may donate earned points from their membership towards the collection efforts. At the end of the collection period, the points contributed will be converted into a cash donation. This year, True Rewards members will be entered for a chance to win $2,000 in free slot play for their donation of a new or unused toy. Members may participate once per day during the promotional frame. The drawing to choose a winner will take place Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. and participants must be present to win.
Toys for Tots is a program founded by the U.S. Marine Corps in 1947, with the affiliated non-profit Marine Toys for Tots created in 1991. Since then, the mission of the organization has been to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute them to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to less fortunate children throughout the U.S. For more than 70 years, the program has distributed more than 566 million toys to 258 children.
