Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery is finalizing plans for Memorial Day weekend. On Friday, May 23, volunteers will place American flags on headstones beginning at 9 am. Then on Monday, May 26, the cemetery will host a Memorial Day program beginning at 2pm to honor the veterans and their families according to Mike Gregory, Superintendent at the Cemetery…
“Come out. Bring lawn chairs for seating. The cemetery committee will have refreshments here in terms of donuts and drinks. From there we will have our program as well and give due honor to our veterans. Honor guards will be on hand to render military honors. We will likely have a dove release as well. And then the cemetery will be open until eight o’clock that day for people to go ahead and visit during extended hours.”
