No one injured Friday morning on Virginia Avenue when an Allegany County Public School bus was struck by a vehicle. Indications are there was just one child on the bus at the time of the accident and there were no injuries. City police investigating.

A motor vehicle crash Thursday morning in Lonaconing sent four people to the hospital. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Department reports that the two vehicle accident occurred at 7:20 on Route 36 near Rockville Street. A garbage truck driven by Chris Shrout crossed the center line and struck a Friend’s Aware transit bus. Shrout was transported by ambulance to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. The Friends Aware driver, Robert Shoeberger, and a passenger were taken to the hospital by ambulance. A female passenger was flown by Trooper 5 to the hospital for treatment. Route 36 was partially closed for three hours and the investigation is continuing.
