On Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at approximately 7:31 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 600 block of E. Second Street for an assault in progress.  Police arrived and observed Desirae Washington and Kiyah Harley actively assaulting each other.  A large crowd had gathered to observe the disturbance.  Police also learned that Harley had an active bench warrant for her arrest.  The warrant was issued as the result of Harley failing to appear in court.  She was originally charged with Theft: $100 to under $1500.  Washington and Harley were arrested and transported to Central Booking.  Washington was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $2,000 bond.  Harley posted a $1,500 unsecured bond.
