Senator Paul Corderman of Washington County has filed a complaint against a Hagerstown City Council member for interfering with police business. The complaint, filed with the city’s ethics board concerns Councilwoman Erika Bell attempting to use her position to influence police during a traffic stop involving her boyfriend. Before the stop, Bell allegedly helped Terrance Murphy conceal a handgun he is prohibited from having and later arrived during the stop and identified herself as a council member to police.
