U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen hopes to meet with the President of El Salvador while he is in the United States this week to discuss the return of Maryland father Kilmar Abrego-Garcia. Senator Van Hollen also announced his intent to travel to El Salvador if Abrego-Garcia is not returned by midweek and check on his condition. “I was a little worried that when the government was just claiming knowledge of where he was, that something might have happened to him and that was sort of their cover. But since the government has gone on record that he is alive and well and they know where he's located, I'm a little more heartened that we'll be able to get him back.”
