Seventeen Projects Approved for Open Space Funds

Program Open Space funding was formally approved at Thursday’s Allegany County Commissioner’s meeting.  Seventeen sites throughout the county will be on the receiving end of $993,000 in funding for planning, acquisition, and development of recreational areas for the public.  Funding for the projects comes through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.   Cumberland, Frostburg, Bel Air, Cresaptown, Barton, Luke, and Lonaconing were among the areas that received funding for projects.
