Sex Offender Arrested

On 08/10/2016 37 year old Paul William Thomas Goetz was arrested by members of the C3I Warrant/Fugitive Unit, with the assistance of the Cumberland Police, at a private residence on Gephart Drive in Cumberland.  Goetz, who is a registered sex offender, was wanted on a parole re-take warrant for violation of probation.

 

Goetz is currently being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Martinsburg, WV. – On June 18, 2013 the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force utilizing members from the United States Marshals Service and the West Virginia State Police, were able to locate and arrest Robert Connolly a wanted registered sex offender in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Robert Connolly 63, of Martinsburg was on probation from the state of Florida for a conviction of Lewd or Lascivious acts with a minor. Connolly was being supervised by the West Virginia State Department of Parole and Probation. Connolly had violated his conditions of release and Florida issued a warrant for his arrest.

The Mountain State Fugitive Task Force was able to determine that Connolly was staying at an apartment on West Martin Street in Martinsburg, West Virginia. In the early morning hours of June 18, 2013, U.S. Marshals and West Virginia State Troopers located Connolly operating his vehicle on College Street and took Connolly into custody without incident.

The Mountain State Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) is comprised of three offices and covers the Northern portion of West Virginia. The Martinsburg Office of MSFTF is a team of the following Federal, State and Local agencies: West Virginia State Police, Martinsburg City Police Department, Shepherdstown Police Department, Berkeley, Jefferson, Mineral, and Morgan County Sheriff’s Offices and the U.S. Marshals Service.

The primary mission of the U.S. Marshals led task forces is to locate and capture fugitives charged with violent crimes, drug crimes, sex offenders and other violent felony offenses.
