An exchange between District 1 Senate candidates Mike McKay and Jake Shade at Thursday evening’s candidate forum on WCBC got tense regarding recent mailers from the Shade camp.
Commissioner Shade has sent mailers to district Republicans questioning the labor union AFSCME endorsing Delegate McKay. McKay said he is proud to have that endorsement and that to then accuse him of being liberal is wrong.
Commissioner Shade stood by his mailer.
