Registered sex offender burning trash accidentally shoots own foot which leads to arrest for possession with intent to distribute meth.

On Saturday March 5, 2022 the Allegany County Sheriff's Office was contacted about a male subject who had an injury to his foot caused by a bullet. While the male was seeking medical treatment for the injury he reported to a Deputy that he was burning trash in his yard and he must have accidently thrown a live round into the fire which exploded and injured his foot. The male was identified as Rodney Wayne Bible who is a registered sex offender.

Deputies worked with the Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registry Coordinator who helped identify the specific charges that Mr. Bible was convicted of which prevented him from being in possession of any firearms or ammunition. Deputies then obtained a search warrant for Mr. Bible's residence in Flintstone, MD which resulted in the recovery of additional evidence of the violation of illegal possession of ammunition as well as the possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia to indicate distribution of the drug.

Mr. Bible was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of MDMA, and illegal possession of ammunition.

Mr. Bible was held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center pending his next court appearance.
