On Friday officers from the Cumberland City Police responded to Martin’s Market located at 739 Park Street, in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with Loss Prevention. Officers were advised by the complainant that he observed, Richard Acton Williams Jr., pay for items at the cash register and leave the store. Mr. Williams was observed returning to the store with the items he had purchased, and began walking around through different isles. Williams removed a white plastic Martin’s bag from his pocket at which time he placed store merchandise inside the bag. Williams attempted to leave the store at which time he was stopped and detained. Williams was arrested at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Williams was issued a criminal citation and released pending his trial date in District Court.

On Friday, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Martin’s Market located at 739 Park Street for a shoplifting complaint. Upon the officers arrival they made contact with the loss prevention officer. Officers were advised by Loss Prevention that she observed a subject identified as Timothy Dale Ryan Jr. attempt to steal two clusters of crab legs. Ryan was observed walking past all points of sale without paying for the items. Ryan was contacted by staff and detained until officers arrived. Ryan was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. Ryan was issued a criminal citation and released pending his trial date in District Court.
