Special Session Possibility in WV

August 4th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Mineral County Delegate Gary Howell is pretty confident that the West Virginia legislature will be called back for a special session late this summer or early fall.  Howell says special sessions cost the state about $40,000 each day so if one does happen, he hopes Governor Morrisey is prepared to present his concerns over the rising costs at the PEIA – the Public Employees Insurance Agency…

“He keeps talking about PEIA, but unless he has a plan to do something with it, which we haven’t heard, I don’t know why he would call us in unless he has an idea.”
