State Rolls Out Energy Rebate

September 23rd, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Gov. Wes Moore and Democratic leaders on Monday announced an energy rebate targeted at combating rising energy costs. The governor said the relief comes as a result of the Next Generation Energy Act that took effect on July 1. Senate President Bill Ferguson said every Maryland household would receive two utility bill credits, each averaging about $40. The first credit is expected to come as the summer ends and another in the winter, in January or February. Speaker of the House Adrienne Jones said the rebate is a start at reducing energy costs….

“We may not be able to make energy costs fall overnight, but together by combining relief with reform we can make Maryland a more resilient and a more affordable state for everyone.”
