Senate Minority Leader Steve Hershey issued the following statement.
“Restoring funding for BOOST and expanding opportunities for more students was one of the top three priorities of the Senate Republican Caucus. Early on, we decided to use the new legislative authorities in the budget process to advance our concerns. We applaud the persistent efforts of the Republicans on the Budget & Taxation committee in being able to achieve a very positive compromise.
We have always worked for options for parents to choose the best educational environment that meet’s their children’s learning needs. Non-public schools are a viable option for many, but not affordable for all. The BOOST program assists those who may not be able to afford non-public schools an opportunity to get the best education possible.”
