Cumberland Police responded to a residence on Oak Street Saturday morning for a disturbance.  Upon arrival the officer witnessed a female, later identified as 19 year old Destiny Marie Tilson, throw a metal smoking device across the street from a front porch.  Tilson was also observed creating a loud disturbance.  Tilson was placed under arrest later released after being issued criminal citations.

Saturday evening, Cumberland Police were called a business on Park Street for a theft complaint.  27 year old Ashton Renea Hite is alleged to have taken several items of makeup into the bathroom without paying for them, and is then said to have returned and attempted to take more.  The total amount of all items Hite attempted to steal was $225.58.  Hite was arrested and taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on $2000.

Early Sunday morning while Cumberland Police were on patrol on Mechanic Street, a disturbance was observed at a local business.  During the disturbance, officers observed 22 year old Leonard Alexander Britton and 35 year old Franklin Antione Hitch involved in a physical altercation.  Each were charged with 2nd Degree Assault, Affray, Disorderly Conduct, Fail to Obey a Reasonable/Lawful Order, and Resist/Interfere Arrest.

On Saturday, April 12, 2014 at approximately 7:15 P.M., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business located in the 700 block of Park Street in reference to a shoplifting complaint.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with store management who advised that they observed a subject stealing items while inside the store.  18 year old Stephen Allen Harp the 2nd was placed under arrest for stealing several consumable items.  A search of Harp's person revealed an illegal smoking device which is used to smoke marijuana

 

On Saturday, April 12, 2014 at approximately 9:10 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business located in the 700 block of Park Street in reference to a shoplifting complaint.  Prior to officer's arrival the female suspect fled from the store.  The first arriving officer on the scene was able to stop the suspect who was identified as 33 year old Allysan Rachel-Isac McDaniel was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. 

 

On Saturday, April 12, 2014 the Cumberland Police Department served criminal summonses on the following subjects;

April Ann Lantz – age 38 – Cumberland, MD – Second degree assault.

Serephine Thomasa Alimo – age 56 – Cumberland, MD – Second degree assault.

Michelle Reheada Cook – age 32 – Cumberland, MD – Second degree assault.

 

On Sunday, April 13, 2014 at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Cumberland police Department responded to the area of Forth Street at Seymour Street in reference to a subject failing to pay for a taxi cab ride.  35 year old Joseph William Wood was issued a criminal citation charging him with theft and was released from the scene pending further action in District Court at a later date.
