Traffic Stop leads to Drug Arrests

An officer on patrol when he observed a traffic violation and stopped the vehicle.  Upon contacting the driver and passenger, he observed several criminal indicators that made him suspicious of the occupants of the vehicle.  A K-9 was summonsed to the scene and alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.  The vehicle was searched and a quantity of crack cocaine was located inside the vehicle.  Based on this finding, Kennith Lamar Drayton, age 35 of Carlisle, PA and Shawn Lamar Gladden, age 39 of Harrisburg, PA were both placed under arrest.  Both were charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession with the Intent to Distribute. Gladden was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle with a Suspended License.  They were taken to Central Booking for their initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner and were held without bond.

The Cumberland Police served an Arrest Warrant on Brandon Lee Clark, age 23, of Rawlings, MD.  The warrant was issued in 2016 as a result of a physical altercation that took place on Greenway Ave.  Clark was charged with 2nd Degree Assault, Affray, Disturbing the Peace, and Disorderly Conduct.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance and was released on his own recognizance.

On April 20, 2013 at approximately 3:30 PM a Cumberland Police Department officer observed a traffic violation on Interstate 68 west bound and stopped the vehicle near the Maryland Avenue exit.  The officer contacted the driver and advised him of the violation.  During the contact, the officer observed the occupants acting in an extremely nervous manner.  A consent search of the vehicle was granted and both the driver and passenger were arrested after the officer located a quantity of suspected Oxycodone in the possession of both subjects.  Jonathan Douglas George, age 21 of Barton, and Robert Allen Grady II, age 22 of Barton, were arrested for CDS possession of not marijuana.  Both subjects were then transported to Cumberland Police Department for processing and then to the Allegany County District Court where they were released on their own recognizance.
