On April 20, 2013 at approximately 3:30 PM a Cumberland Police Department officer observed a traffic violation on Interstate 68 west bound and stopped the vehicle near the Maryland Avenue exit. The officer contacted the driver and advised him of the violation. During the contact, the officer observed the occupants acting in an extremely nervous manner. A consent search of the vehicle was granted and both the driver and passenger were arrested after the officer located a quantity of suspected Oxycodone in the possession of both subjects. Jonathan Douglas George, age 21 of Barton, and Robert Allen Grady II, age 22 of Barton, were arrested for CDS possession of not marijuana. Both subjects were then transported to Cumberland Police Department for processing and then to the Allegany County District Court where they were released on their own recognizance.

On May 24, 2012 at approximately 11:15 AM a Cumberland Police Department officer observed a vehicle traveling west on Interstate 68. The vehicle had an equipment violation and the officer stopped the vehicle prior to the Maryland Avenue exit. Contact was made with the driver and they were notified of the violation. While speaking with the driver and observing the occupants the officer noticed that they displayed very nervous behavior and would not make eye contact with the officer. A K-9 unit was called to the scene and a free air sniff was conducted around the exterior of the vehicle and a positive alert was indicated. A probable cause search of the vehicle was then conducted. A large quantity of marihuana, approximately 426 grams, was located inside of the vehicle in the amount and packaging to indicate the intent to distribute. The four occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged with CDS possession of marihuana, CDS possession with the intent to distribute, and CDS possession of paraphernalia. Each was taken to Cumberland Police Department for processing and then to Allegany County District Court for an initial appearance.
