The Trump Administration announced Wednesday that it has denied federal assistance to Western Maryland following May’s flooding along Georges Creek.  Governor Wes Moore said that the flooding clearly met FEMA’s own standards for federal assistance.  The governor said Maryland will appeal the decision to deny federal funding.  Maryland requested the funding on June 13, asking for almost 16 million dollars in emergency money.  Governor Wes Moore stated, “We will continue to stand with our fellow Marylanders in Western Maryland as they rebuild from the damage caused in May.”
